On Saturday July 24 2021, the Hinds County Sheriff's Office was at Bolton Edwards Elementary and Middle School to give backpacks and school supplies to students. It was a drive through event. Citizens began lining up shortly after 9 a.m. for the event which began at 10 a.m. Sponsors of the event: Hinds County Sheriff's Office, Richard Schwartz & Associates, Walmart, BancorpSouth, Dr. Gray and Roxanne Hilsman, and Dayspring Community Church of Clinton. The timing of the event was great for parents and students as the 2021-2022 school year begins soon. The first day of school for students is August 11, 2021 for schools in the Hinds County School District.
