CONGRESSMAN BENNIE G. THOMPSON ANNOUNCES$1.1 MILLION AWARDED TO ART CENTERS IN THE MISSISSIPPI SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded $1,194,500 in grant funds to the following:

Jackson State University 1400 J R Lynch St. Jackson, MS 39217		$25,000		To support the S.O.S. Boot Camp, an opera training workshop for select undergraduate and graduate students.
Mississippi Arts Commission 501 N West St., Ste 1101A Jackson, MS 39201		$1,059,500		To support arts programs, services, and activities associated with carrying out the agency’s National Endowment for the Arts-approved strategic plan.
Mississippi Center for Cultural Production 319 White Oak St. Utica, MS 39175		$40,000		To support a multidisciplinary arts series at Sipp Culture.
Mississippi Museum of Art, Inc. 380 S Lamar St. Jackson, MS 39201		$40,000		To support an exhibition, artist-in-residence, and public art installation focused on quilts by Black female quilters.
