The ham radio community is gearing up for a fun and informal gathering at the Quisenberry Library in Clinton, Mississippi, on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Whether you’re a licensed operator or just curious about amateur radio, you’re invited to join in on the camaraderie and conversation starting around 9 a.m.

The library, located at 503-559 East Northside Drive, offers an ideal outdoor setting with ample parking and plenty of tall shade trees—perfect for stringing up wire antennas and setting up portable radio equipment. It’s conveniently located just west of the Indian Lanes Bowling Alley.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own gear, including batteries, radios, tuners, and antennas, as well as a chair, since outdoor seating is limited. While the real action is expected to begin at 9 a.m., some organizers plan to arrive a little earlier to get a head start on setting up.

The event offers a chance for attendees to test their setups, exchange tips, and make HF, VHF, or UHF contacts. Even if you don’t have equipment of your own, you’ll still be able to get on the air with the help of others. Bathroom access will be available once the library opens, and the air conditioning inside will be a welcome relief from the Mississippi heat.

Most of all, the goal is to have a good time, enjoy fellowship, and connect with others who share a passion for radio. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, organizers will reschedule for a later weekend.

For now, mark your calendar and get your gear ready. The radios go live at 9 a.m. on July 19.
